Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for BGR devices and to improve the recovery efficiency of the heat energy retained by blast furnace gases by utilizing the waste gas from a hot stove under high pressure operation as a primary pressure equalizing source for the atmosphere in a raw material charging hopper at the top of a blast furnace. CONSTITUTION:In general, the blast furnace gas discharged from a blast furnace 1 is reduced of pressure in a turbine 5 or a septum valve 6 via a dust remover 3 and a Venturi scrubber 4, after which it is fed to a gas holder 12 via an electrical dust precipitator 7. The blast furnace gas of a relatively high pressure after the primary dust removal on the upper stream side of a turbine 5 is branched and is supplied as a fuel for a hot stove to the combustion chamber 9 of the hot stove. This is mixed and burned with the air fed by a separately installed high pressure blower 18, whereby the high pressure operation of the hot stove is made possible. The high pressure waste gas of combustion from the hot stove is supplied to a small bell hopper via a pressure equalizing valve 34 through a line 30a branched from the middle of a waste gas line 13a.
