A feeding device for feeding fabric to stentering machines comprises a split bush wheel 5 housing a positive feeding wheel 1 having a diameter less than half that of the brush wheel and arranged to be driven at a lower peripheral speed than the peripheral speed of the brush wheel. The wheel 1 is preferably driven by a train of gears 13, 14 and 9 from the shaft of the brush wheel and a spring shoe 16 may be provided to press the fabric against the positive feeding wheel 1.
