Abstract

813,217. Toothed gears. OTT, K., [trading as HABRA-WERK W. F. OTT]. Jan. 25, 1957 [Jan. 25, 1956], No. 2882/57. Class 80 (1). [Also in Group XVII] In a driving mechanism in which gears, toothed only over a portion of their periphery, impart intermittent motion to chains operating a machine for making paper bags (see Group XVII) a driving wheel 81 is fixed on a shaft 82, with a further wheel 83 fixed on collar 81a of the wheel 81 so as to be adjustable in the peripheral direction and withdrawable from the wheel 81. Teeth 86 are inserted in an annular recess 84 in the wheel 81 and in corresponding recesses 85 in the wheel 83, projections 86a of the teeth engaging in the recess 84 and projections 86b in the recesses 85. Any number of teeth 86 can thus be inserted in the wheel 83 and the timing of the machine operations altered.
