A gear-hobbing machine comprises a corrector-bar e for moving the hob 8 axially through a lever 9, to correct for inaccuracies in the drive to the table 7. One end of the hob-spindle slides on balls in a casing 11 and the other is driven by a flexible-plate 15. The correctorbar is constructed as in Specification 765,939. Specification 665,582 also is referred to.
