Abstract
2-Benzthiazyl sulphenomorpholide is prepared by interacting at a raised temperature a metal salt of 2-mercaptobenzthiazole and N-chloromorpholine in one or more of the following solvents, viz. benzene, toluene, xylene and other aromatic hydrocarbons, dioxan, petrol ether and chlorinated derivatives of these. The metal salt of the thiazole is preferably an alkali metal salt such as a sodium or potassium salt. The reaction is preferably effected at a temperature between 40 DEG and 70 DEG C. and more preferably between 50 DEG and 60 DEG C. Specification 713,496 is referred to.
