Abstract

773,284. Ladders. ASBRINK & CO., AKTIEBOLAG. Aug. 22, 1955, No. 24086/55. Class 20(2) A telescopic ladder has side members of Z cross section having a web 2 at right angles to the plane of the ladder and the two flanges 6, 7 directed to either side, two parallel ribs 3, 4 extending from the inside of the web and carrying one end of the ladder treads 5,. and a rib 8 on the outwardly extending flange 6 parallel to the web 2, vertical and diagonal stays 9 of a reinforcing framework being mounted between the web 2 and the rib 8 and carrying a hand rail 11. The outer edges 12, 13 of the side members are reinforced by being bent twice at right angles. Rollers 14, 15 mounted on the side members run on the upper and lower surfaces respectively of the flange 6 of the side member of an adjacent ladder section. Rollers 16 for lateral guidance engage the edge 12 of an adjacent ladder section.
