Abstract

772,929. Wrenches. GILL. P. D. Sept. 5. 1955 [Dec. 10, 1954], No. 25461/55. Class 61 In a device adapted to screw up or unscrew the caps of screw-top containers comprising a rigid base having two wall members 2 3 projecting from one face thereof and disposed at an angle to each other to form generally a V, the inner surfaces of the members 2, 3 and the whole or a substantial part of the area of the base are provided with a resilient lining adapted to form a gripping surface. The lining may be of rubber or rubber-like material such as polyvinyl chloride and has a serrated surface 11. The members 2 and 3 shown are integral with the base. In modifications provided with torque limiting means, one of the wall members is mounted on the base so as to be longitudinally movable relatively thereto against spring pressure, spring means being provided to urge the movable jaw members either towards or away from the apex of the V according to whether screwing up or unscrewing of the closures is required. The device is attached to a wall or the like by means of tabs 5, 7.
