Abstract

772,377. Mineral-mining apparatus. EICKHOFF MASCHINENFABRIK UND EISENGIESSEREI GEB. Feb. 1, 1955 [March 6, 1954], No. 2942/55. Class 68 (1). Apparatus for cutting mineral during a traverse in either direction of a longwall face comprises two similar drum type cutter machines 2, 3 disposed one behind the other and coupled together so as to move in unison, at least one of the machines being so mounted on a skid structure 9 that it may be rocked about a pivotal connection 15 between the machine and the skid frame to vary the cutting height of the associated drum cutter. The cutting diameters of the contra-rotating cutter drums of the two machines are approximately equal to the overall height of each machine. A transverse conveyer 12 is disposed between the machines.
