Abstract

771,776. Screens. RUBERY OWEN & CO., Ltd. July 26, 1955, No. 21567/55. Class 45. [Also in Groups XIV, XVII and XXX] . A screen, article of furniture, collapsible box or, as shown, a pallet or crate has detachable sides secured to the corner posts 11 by engagement of extensions 20, 21 of their upper and lower frame members 18, 19 with U- and Z- shaped brackets 13, 16. The brackets 13 may be above the brackets 16 and the extensions 20, 21 slotted at 22, 23 so that one slot, say 22 (the sides may be fitted either way up) engages a flange 14 of a bracket 13 and the member 21 fits between the bracket 16 and post 11. Alternatively the brackets 16 may be above the brackets 13 in which case the members 20, 21 are unslotted and the flange 14 is cut away Fig. 5, to receive the lower of these members. The side frame members 17-19 are of " keyhole " section, flexible mesh or plate being sprung into their open inner edges. Alternatively plates may be bolted to strips secured in these edges.
