Abstract
624,451. Horticultural frames. CONSTANTINE, H. E. Oct. 17, 1946, No. 30972. [Class 20(i)] A horticultural frame has inwardly extending flanges on the horizontal frame members 1, 2, Fig. 1, of each wall panel and a flange on the upper horizontal frame member 3 of each roof panel, the flanges supporting sheets of glass &c. while the lower edge of each roof panel sheet is secured by clips 9 to the lower horizontal frame member of the roof panel. As shown in Fig. 1 the member 2 and the lower frame member of the roof panel are common and the panels have flanged end members 4, 5, while the angle iron frame members 3 are welded together at an angle. Carrying handles 8, which also serve to secure the glass sheets 7,are provided on the members 1. Slotted clips 9, Fig. 8, allow the glass sheets 6 to be. secured in a raised position for ventilation purposes. Clips 10, 10\ 13 Figs. 7, 9 (not shown) may also be used for securing the glass sheets against the various frame members, while end panels of glass &c. or of opaque material may also be provided. In a modification Figs. 3, 4 (not shown) the frame has one inclined roof panel, one vertical and one inclined wall panel and in a further modification Figs. 5, 6 (not shown) an extension frame is provided on which is supported the frame shown in Fig. 1. Synthetic resin sheets may be used instead of glass while the frame members may be of metal, wood or synthetic resin.
