Abstract

770,668. Drainpipes. BENDZ, Ltd., and ACKERMAN, S. May 13, 1955 [May 13, 1954], No. 13989/54. Class 33. [Also in Group XXVIII] Stack pipes for buildings comprise a number of sections 10 each provided with a socket 13 having an internal, circumferential groove 14 accommodating a rubber ring 15 to form a seal with an upper section slidingly engaged in the socket. The sections are formed with flanged openings with each of which are telescopically engaged tubular members 12 for the connection of waste pipes 17, Fig. 4, which abut the flanges 11 and are also sealed by rubber rings 20 located in grooves 19 of the members. Alternatively, the members are formed as sockets as shown in Fig. 3 and fit within the flanged openings. Soil pipes 21, Fig. 2, are connected to the stack pipe by the use of tubular members 12 as shown in Fig. 4 the sealing ring 20 and groove 19 being dispensed. with and the pipes 21 being brazed in the members. There is a vent pipe 25 constructed in a similar manner to that of the stack pipe, the soil pipes 21 being connected thereto by branch pipes 29.
