In the apparatus described in the parent Specification comprising a tube, means both for blowing a gas stream and for feeding a yarn 2 therethrough, an obstacle 11 to deflect yarn emerging from the tube, and a device 15 to take up the treated yarn at a speed less than that at which it is fed, the tube is a body 9 having a notch 8 surmounted by an adjustable thread guide 7 and to which is secured a stationary thread guide 5 and, mounted on an axle on the same side of the body thereas, are two interconnected freely rotatable thread guide pulleys 6, 13, of different diameters. Yarn passes under the guide 5, around pulley 6, under the guide 7, through a suction device, impinges against a baffle 11, thence to a guide 12, again under the guide 5, around the pulley 13 to a guide 14 and collecting drum 15 driven at a constant speed.
