769,831. Air-blast switches. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. June 3, 1955 [June 4, 1954; Dec. 23, 1954], No. 15914/55. Class 38(5) An air-blast switch has a plurality of compressed air containers 12, 13 mounted on pillar insulators 1, each insulator supporting a pair of containers each housing a main breaking gap 4 comprising a fixed contact 6 on a bushing 3 extending through one end wall of a container and a moving contact 8 carried by an operating mechanism 10 attached to the opposite end wall of the container. The containers on an insulator are arranged side-by-side and the bushings are oppositely directed so that a mechanism housing can easily be removed. Each pillar 1 may support a further insulator 18 carrying a further container 17 housing auxiliary contacts 21, 23 and voltage dependent resistors 20.
