Abstract

1,080,198. Vacuum switches. LICENTIA PATENT-VERWALTUNGS-G.m.b.H. June 16, 1966 [July 23, 1965], No. 26965/66. Heading H2B. A plurality of series connected vacuum switches 5 are mounted upon the insulating cases of voltage dividing capacitors 2. The fixed electrode 6 of each vacuum switch is rigidly attached to an extended terminal 4 of the capacitor 2 while the movable electrode is biased away from the other terminal by a spring (8) and is connected to the terminal by a flexible conductor. The vacuum switches 5 are operated simultaneously through an insulating rod 9 by mechanical, hydraulic or pneumatic means (not shown) in the base 11. The vacuum switch and capacitors may be horizontally mounted (Fig. 3, not shown) and the switches may be enclosed in insulators (Fig. 4, not shown) which may be filled with SF 6 , air or nitrogen.
