Abstract

1,013,793. High voltage switches; insulators. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA A.B. Oct. 4, 1962 [Oct. 7, 1961], No. 37495/62. Headings H2B and H2C. The Figure shows an insulator 3 supporting an air blast circuit breaker 2 at high voltage, and 1 represents the compressed air container at earth potential. The container and insulator are on opposite sides of a support plate provided with sealing rings 12 and the breaker is mounted on a holder 5, itself sealed to the insulator by a grommet. A number of tension rods 8 join the holder 5 to a piston 6 at the lower end of the apparatus, the piston being fastened to the rods by a nut and spring arrangement. Relative expansion of the parts is thus permitted while the compressed air seal is maintained. A further arrangement is described (Fig. 2, not shown) in which a bushing insulator is held together by a conductor in the form of a piston and tie rod linking its opposite ends.
