769,832. Air-blast switches; switchgear structures. ALLMANNA SVENSKA ELEKTRISKA AKTIEBOLAGET. June 3, 1955 [June 4, 1954], No. 15916/55. Class 38(5) A polyphase air-blast switch has a mainly parallelopipedic compressed air container 5 containing the switch contacts 8, 9 which are supported by insulators 6, 7 extending through the top and bottom of the container. In the arrangement shown only the upper contacts 8 are movable and may be actuated by a contact-operating mechanism 6<SP>1</SP>, but the lower contacts may alternatively or additionally be movable and operated by suitable mechanisms. The. container may be of sheet iron and stiffened by walls 13 arranged between the contacts of the various phases. The container may be secured to a carriage 1 housing the switch control apparatus, the carriage being withdrawable from a cell (not shown) having fixed isolating contacts 4 co-operating with contacts 3 on the insulators 6, 7.
