Die kontaktgebenden Enden der Hohlelektro den A und B sind .abgerundet bzw. an nähernd halbkugelig, um das elektrische Feld möglichst homogen zii gestalten. Im Bereiche mindestens einer Länge gleich dem grössten Elektrodendurchmesser, gerechnet von den kontaktgebenden Enden der Elektro den ab, weisen die Aussenwandungen der Elektroden A und B einen völlig glatten Ver lauf auf;
Lediglich innerhalb der genannten Zeitspanne entsteht durch den Spalt zwischen .den beiden Schirm elektroden infolge des dort vorliegenden vollen Druckgefälles eine sehr starke Luft- strömiuig. Diese Luftströmung verläuft von allen Seiten gleichzeitig zu diesem Spalt hin, so dass der entstandene Lichtbogen nach der Mittelachse hin bewegt wird;
<B> Additional patent </B> to main patent no. 280015. Method for operating switches with arc extinguishing by a predetermined extinguishing agent flow generated independently of the level of the current to be switched off, as well as device for carrying out the method.
The method described in claim I of the main patent for the operation of switches with arc extinguishing by a predetermined extinguishing agent flow generated independently of the level of the current to be switched off is.
characterized in that a quantity of extinguishing agent, which is pressurized at the latest immediately before the ignition of the disconnection arc and which is at least sufficient for disconnection that corresponds to the disconnection power assigned to the switch, accumulates in the switchgear,
in the case of arc extinguishing, the extinguishing nozzles lying opposite one another and coaxially to the longitudinal axis of the switch are fed axially symmetrically zen tripetal and discharged in opposite directions through these extinguishing nozzles so that the arc is pushed into the extinguishing nozzle axis soon after it is generated and from base to base in the axis of the Extinguishing medium 1 flow burns.
Accordingly, the device for carrying out the above-mentioned method according to claim II of the main patent is characterized by a container with a capacity for a quantity of extinguishing agent that is at least sufficient for a shutdown that corresponds to the cut-off power assigned to the switch, with the required to guide the Devices serving the extinguishing agent are arranged and designed in such a way that
that the extinguishing agent is guided axially symmetrically centripetal to the extinguishing agent nozzles lying opposite one another and coaxially to the switch's longitudinal axis and is discharged in opposite directions through these extinguishing nozzles.
According to proposals mentioned in the main patent, the electrodes themselves have been designed as control organs for the extinguishing agent by using them as hollow electrodes. When the electrodes are disconnected, the flow of extinguishing agent begins immediately due to the exposure of the discharge openings and it is maintained until either the amount of extinguishing agent that has accumulated is completely exhausted or until. Another electrode short-circuit is initiated before the amount of extinguishing agent that has accumulated in the switch flows away.
Accordingly, the pressure build-up of the amount of extinguishing agent required for the next arc extinguishing can start early from the point in time when the electrodes are again connected.
The present invention has the task of improving the readiness of the switch to erase ver. According to the invention, this is done on the basis of the method specified in claim I of the main patent, because the extinguishing agent for a shutdown process is already under pressure in the Schaltraimi during a last part of the last preceding shutdown process.
The device according to the invention for carrying out the method proposed here is based on the device proposed in patent claim II of the main patent, characterized in that the switching room is continuously acted upon by an extinguishing agent feed device with extinguishing agent under pressure and that means by way of the extinguishing agent flow are provided to close off and to uncover outflow openings for the extinguishing agent.
The constant exposure of the switch room with extinguishing agent does not need to be uninterrupted.
Various possibilities are available to carry out the method according to the invention. Assuming that the switch room is continuously pressurized with the solvent from a memory or some other suitable feed device, which can also be accommodated in the switch room itself, the outflow openings for the extinguishing agent can be opened at the latest immediately after or at the end of the distance increase Electrodes or closed during this distance increase and thus the given by the size of the switch room,
A sufficient quantity of extinguishing agent must be pressurized for at least one shutdown.
During the switch-off process, the discharge openings can be partially or fully opened at the latest immediately before the electrodes are separated. When the device is switched on, the aforementioned discharge openings generally remain closed. A partial opening, which does not lead to any significant pressure drop in the switchgear room, may be useful if the switch-on process is thereby facilitated.
To ensure that the switch is always ready to extinguish, the extinguishing agent is kept under pressure when the switch is switched on in the switch room. For this purpose, either the outflow openings mentioned can remain closed, or the switching electrodes themselves are designed as control organs in such a way that they can reliably close off the switching room.
The drawing shows a schematically held ge, for example embodiment of the invention. As a solvent is-. this assumed compressed air; however, any other gas, vapor or liquid extinguishing agent can be used.
In the drawing, A and B denote the shielding electrodes designed as hollow electrodes, G denote the burn-off electrodes and C denote the pressure-resistant container. The switch shown is intended to carry out an operating process with extinguishing by a predetermined extinguishing medium flow generated independently of the amount of current to be switched off, in which in switching room C an amount of extinguishing agent is already under during a last part of the last, preceding switch-off process Pressure is applied
which is sufficient for at least one shutdown that corresponds to the shutdown power to be written on the switch and, in the event of an arc release, the extinguishing nozzles lying opposite one another and coaxial to the longitudinal axis, axially, riveted, and centripetally fed, and in opposite directions through these extinguishing nozzles dissipated by so. that the arc soon after it is generated,
is pushed into the release nozzle axis and burns from the base point zri base point in the axis of the extinguishing agent flow.
According to the invention, means for closing off and uncovering outflow openings for the extinguishing agent are now implemented by way of the extinguishing agent flow. been.
In the embodiment shown, these means are in addition to the control organs formed by the electrodes A and B for the extinguishing agent and arranged to close or open outflow openings 31 and Q, to which valve functions are given has been.
The solvent feed line to the shaft space, through which the latter is continuously subjected to pressurized extinguishing agent from a suitable feed device, is not shown in the figure.
The valves 11 and Q are arranged within the hollow electrodes A and B in the height of the axial ends of the container. The transitions of the inner walls of the hollow electrodes A and B to the control organs 11l and Q run. gradually in order to suppress eddy formation as much as possible.
The contact-making ends of the hollow electrons A and B are rounded or almost hemispherical in order to make the electric field as homogeneous as possible. In the region of at least one length equal to the largest electrode diameter, counted from the contact-making ends of the electrodes, the outer walls of electrodes A and B have a completely smooth course;
There are no insulating materials in an area with the same value a. If there were edges or insulating material transitions on or in their vicinity, there would be a risk that discharge phenomena would occur at such points if the voltage is high. The distance between parts of the insulating material in the switch room, for example the walls of the container C from the electrodes, should be at least as large as the largest electrode diameter; a.
Reduction of this distance in the limiting case to half of the largest electrode diameter still appears to be acceptable; a further reduction can result in undesirable eddy formation. The outflow cross-sections that can be exposed by the valves 111 and Q and the volume of the container C correspond to the given technical teachings.
The mode of operation of the device shown is as follows: When the switch is on, the shield electrodes A and B touch each other so that the operating current can flow through them continuously.
In this switch-on state, the valves D1 and Q are closed. They are only opened immediately before the electrodes A and B are separated, so that the outflow spaces in which the consumable electrodes G are located are vented. To switch itself off, the lower shielding electrode B is moved downwards together with the consumable electrode G connected to it.
The drawing shows the position of the electrodes like the one in which the resulting arc is extinguished. In this train stand the valves 111 and Q are fully open.
They close while the distance between the shield electrodes A and B is being increased immediately after the arc is extinguished and remain from there.
closed from to the point in time immediately before the next electrode separation, which means that the switching room is constantly filled with a pressurized amount of extinguishing agent from the supply device that is at least sufficient for a shutdown.
The valves M and Q are thus permanently closed except for the time span of a part of the electrode spacing enlargement that follows the electrode separation. Switching on after a short circuit can be followed immediately by switching off, because the pressure vessel remains filled when switching on.
Only within the specified period of time does the gap between the two shielding electrodes cause a very strong air flow due to the full pressure gradient present there. This air flow runs from all sides simultaneously towards this gap, so that the resulting arc is moved towards the central axis;
Since only the small amount of extinguishing agent in container C needs to be accelerated, this process is practically inert and very fast. There are also any irregularities on the surfaces of the screen electrodes and beyond. Paths of the extinguishing agent flow are avoided, there are no vortices that would worsen the extinguishing effect.
In order to maintain this uniform flow even with larger electrode inventories, the container C has the abovementioned stand from the shield electrodes. As a result, the flow velocities occurring between the shield electrodes A, B remain low with the small amounts of extinguishing agent, so that: the incoming eddy-free or at least eddy-poor flow is also maintained in the area of the deflection towards the central axis.
For this reason, the shield electrodes and the transitions to the valves 31 and Q have received the illustrated, rounded training and the gradual transitions.
The consumable electrodes G have the same potential as the screen electrodes A and B belonging to them. The electrical field generated by the returning voltage then occurs almost exclusively between the screen electrodes .A and B. First. towards the end of the burning time, the arc runs from one consumable electrode G via electrodes A, B to the other.
However, the tension that returns between them is then divided into three parts. A voltage sub-circuit with resistors and / or capacitances can be used to force the most favorable voltage distribution to these individual electrodes. In addition, with this arrangement, special switching elements could be used to ensure that the main current initially flows through the shield electrodes and later exclusively through the consumable electrodes.
To prevent permanent bridging of the air gaps between the associated consumable electrodes, it may be necessary to manufacture inner parts of the shield electrodes or inner parts of the consumable electrodes or the supporting structure from insulating materials. A bridging of the intermediate spaces can also be prevented by adding ring-shaped 3 "metal parts isolated from one another in the space between the screen and the consumable electrodes.
It is advantageous to arrange these metal rings in such a way that they divide the arc between the shield and consumable electrodes into several parts. What has been proposed for a single switching section applies mutatis mutandis to the case that several switching sections are arranged in series in accordance with a proposal geniaehten in the main patent.
So there are in each case for each between two switching stretches resulting outflow space in which the extinguishing agent flows from both sides, special. To see control organs, the same applies to their control phases, arrangement and training as in the case of a single switching path.
