769,342. Hypodermic injection appliances. GRYLLS, H. May 20, 1955 [Oct. 19, 1954], No. 30092/54. Class 81(2) An injection appliance comprises a hollow needle 14 mounted in a cup-shaped holder 11 which is intended to fit on to the neck of a collapsible ampoule. The inner end of the needle extends into the cup so as to pierce the ampoule, when so fitted, and has a transverse hole 18, communicating with its bore, through which the medicament can pass. Preferably the inner tip 17 of the needle is closed and shaped to form a point. The inner bore of the cup 11 may converge or diverge towards the open end, as desired, and in the latter case the angle may be such that it can be fitted on to a standard syringe if required.
