Abstract

581,917. Hypodermic injectors. UNIVERSAL METAL PRODUCTS, Ltd., and WERTHEIMER, E. G. May 1, 1944, No. 8161. [Class 81 (ii)] In a hypodermic injector comprising a collapsable tube or container a having a thin diaphragm b in its neck, the injection needle c is secured rigidly in a cap d which screws on to the tube neck, and the inner end of the needle projects into the cap, so that when the latter is screwed fully home to make a fluid-tight joint with the neck of the tube, the projecting end of the needle pierces the diaphragm. Prior to use, a washer g may prevent puncturing of the diaphragm and a packing washer may also be provided to make the fluid-tight joint. Specification 546,444 is referred to.
