Abstract

A fungicidal and bactericidal composition, which is diluted with water prior to use, comprises phenyl mercuric acetate, which may be present up to a concentration of approximately 100 gm/litre, and monoethanolamine borate in an aqueous solution of pH 8.3 to 8.7. The composition is prepared by adding phenyl mercuric acetate to a solution of monoethanolamine in aqueous boric acid solution and then adjusting the pH by addition of acetic acid. The composition may also contain up to 70 gm/litre of a wetting agent such as the non-ionic agent "Lissapol N.300" (Registered Trade Mark).
