Abstract

768,657. Liquid fuel combustion processes. BADISCHE ANILIN- & SODA-FABRIK AKT.-GES. Oct. 29, 1954 [Oct. 31, 1953], No. 31273/54. Addition to 768,656. Class 51 (1). A process for the combustion of combustible substances contained in liquids and liquid combustible substances consists in continuously introducing said liquids into a fluidized layer, kept at combustion temperature, of non-combustible solid particles withdrawing the heat of combustion not required for maintaining the temperature of the layer by heat-absorbing members arranged in touch with the layer. " Black liquor " may be consumed by the process the fluidized layer comprising a rock material of silicate nature kept at 850‹ C. by cooling pipes arranged in the layer and through which flows water boiling under pressure. The combustion gases remove the " liquor " residue as flue ash which is precipitated in a waste heat boiler in the form of fine grains. When burning fuel oil the fluidized layer may comprise chamotte grains. The combustion of the " black liquor " may be carried out in a layer of the residue formed by the combustion or a mixture of the solid particles and the residue.
