Abstract

768,369. Feeding fibres. T. M. M. (RESEARCH), Ltd. July 20, 1955 [July 20, 1954], No. 21129/54. Class 120 (1). Fibre is stripped from a spiked lattice conveyer 10, such as that employed in the apparatus of Specification 706,043, by a stripper cylinder 15 having spaced, radial, metal or leather fan blades 16 disposed transversely of conveyer 10 and one or more rows of bristle brushes 17 interposed between certain of the fan blades 16. Blades 16 are set so as to just clear the points of the lattice spikes 11, while the tips of brushes 17 are set to contact the spike points. The brushes are mounted in wooden bars 18 secured to the cylinder surface by cleats 19. Fibre stripped from conveyer 10 is delivered into a hopper 13.
