Abstract

A pesticidal composition comprises a solid chlorinated hydrocarbon or organo phosphorus pesticide dispersed in a mixture of a wax, eg. beeswax, spermaceti, carnauba, candelilla, esparto, montan, ceresine or paraffin wax and the waxy sulphated and sulphonated fatty alcohols, the wax which when molten being a solvent for the pesticide, and a plasticizer e.g. linseed oil, risella oil and petroleum jelly and dibutyl phthalate, the wax and plasticizer being selected so that the pesticide exudes, blooms or crystallizes at the surface of the composition, and the composition being solid and in the form of a stick, rod or block.
