Abstract

Oils, fats, waxes, resins, petroleum products (e.g. paraffins, ceresin, lubricating oils), natural or artificial hydrocarbons, tars, asphalts, or their derivatives are dispersed in water or vice versa, and the dispersion is treated with a pulverulent body, e.g. calcium oxide, capable of binding the water so that the whole mass forms a homogeneous finely-divided powder. In the cases of (a) petroleum products, the powder obtained may be extracted to obtain various fractions by solvents, e.g. alcohols, ketones (e.g. acetone), acetates (e.g. ethyl or methyl acetate), propane, butane, nitrobenzene, furfural, cresol, chlorax, or sulphur dioxide; (b) asphalts, oils, fats, paraffin, pacura or pitch, the powders may be incorporated in constructional materials, e.g. concrete, mortar, plaster, tiles, road surfacing; (c) natural or artificial hydrocarbons and their derivatives of antiseptic, insecticidal, fungicidal, "aggressive," or toxic character, the powders may be used directly.ALSO:Resins or their derivatives are dispersed in water or vice versa and the dispersion is treated with a pulverulent body, e.g. calcium oxide, capable of binding the water so that the whole mass forms a homogeneous finely-divided powder.ALSO:Oils, fats, waxes, resins, petroleum products, (e.g. paraffins, ceresin, lubricating - oils), natural or artificial hydrocarbons, tars, asphalts, or their derivatives are dispersed in water or vice versa, and the dispersion is treated with a pulverulent body, e.g. calcium oxide, capable of binding the water so that the whole mass forms a homogeneous finely-divided powder. In the case of asphalts, oils, fats, paraffin, pacura or pitch, the powders may be incorporated in constructional materials, e.g. concrete, mortar, plaster, tiles, or road surfacing.ALSO:Natural or artificial hydrocarbons or their derivatives are dispersed in water or vice versa and the dispersion is treated with a pulverulent body, e.g. calcium oxide, capable of binding the water so that the whole mass forms a homogeneous finely-divided powder. The powders obtained from natural or artificial hydrocarbons and their derivatives of antiseptic, insecticidal, fungicidal, "aggressive," or toxic character may be used directly.
