[Class 22] Aggregate is coated by adding to it an emulsion of a tar or bitumen and, simultaneously therewith, a quantity of a water-insoluble, liquid agent compatible with the binding agent, e.g., a dehydrated tar or a mixture of a tar and a tar middle oil or heavy naphtha, and which is in sufficient quantity to cause a more rapid breaking of the emulsion than would occur in its absence, and agitating. A filler may be added before, with or after the coating agent, preferably being added in increments after the coating agent while mixing is taking place.
