[Also in Group VI] A device for attaching a reel to a fishing rod 10 comprises a sleeve 1 having longitudinal and transverse slits 3, 6 forming at least one resilient blade 8 adapted to fit over the lug 11 of the reel and clamp it to the rod. A modified device comprises two sleeves similar to the sleeve 1 and adapted to fit one over the other so that the blade of the inner engages the reel lug and is engaged by the blade of the outer. The inner sleeve has a corrugated surface which is gripped by the inturned free edge of the outer sleeve. In another modification, a ramp, which may be stepped, is secured to the outer surface of the resilient blade of an inner sleeve and an outer sleeve is moved to engage the ramp and thus hold the blade in engagement with the reel lug. The outer sleeve may be threaded on to the inner sleeve. In the further modification shown in Fig. 5, the sleeve has a single longitudinal slit 32 crossed by transverse slits 33 forming resilient blades 34.
