Abstract
766,436. Mounting bodies on railway vehicles. MASCHINENFABRIK AUGSBURG-NURNBERG AKT.-GES. Aug. 25, 1953 [Sept. 4, 1952], No. 23406/53. Class 103(6). A railway car body is supported on multi-axle bogies at four points, two being independent and the other two being connected by means of lever compensating means to distribute the load. The compensating means may be longitudinal or transverse. As shown in Fig. 1 the car body 1 at one side is supported by two bell crank levers 5, 6 on swing bolsters 3, the arms 6 being connected together by a rod 9. At the other side the car body is supported at two separate points on the swing bolsters. In the arrangement shown in Fig. 3 the car body 1 shown in end view is supported at one end on the swing bolster 3 by crank levers 5, 6, the arms 6 being connected by a rod 11. Fig. 4 shows a plan of a railway vehicle in which at each end a swing bolster 3 is connected by levers 5 to clamping members 12 for torsion bar springs 13. The members 12 are pivotally mounted in brackets 8 secured to the car body. At one end the springs 13 are rigidly connected to the car body by means of clamping members 14. At the other end the springs are connected to clamping members 15 which are rotatably mounted in bearings in the car body and are each secured to a lever 17. The levers engage in the ends of a lever 18 which is pivotally mounted on a pin 19 secured to the car body.
