765.866. Brushes. BRUSHES (TEXTILES & INDUSTRIAL), Ltd.. and WOOD, J. W. Nov. 1, 1951 [Aug. 3, 1950; Aug. 15. 1950], Nos. 19367/50 and 20180/50. Class 19 [Also in Groups XXIV and XXXV] A brush for brushing the driving belt of a textile machine is adjustably fixed to an electrically conductive bracket and comprises at least one electrically conductive bristle tuft connected to the bracket so that static electricity may be discharged via the tuft and the bracket to earth. In Fig. 3 two brushes are adjustably and resiliently supported on two brackets above and below the belt, some of the tufts in each brush being of wire and supported in the stocks in thimbles 39 or 44 (Figs. 6 and 11) connected by a wire to the rod 17. In Fig. 4 the brushes are mounted so as to be rotated by the belt and the discharging is effected by a ring of metallic tufts connected to the bracket via the spindle. According to the second Provisional Specification the brush may be chevron shaped with the apex pointing in the opposite direction to the direction of travel of the belt so that dust is swept to the sides.
