Abstract

830,430. Road sweepers. MATERIEL DE VOIRIE. May 28, 1957 [June 18, 1956], No. 16950/57. Class 107 A road sweeper comprises disc shaped knobs 1 rotating about a substantially vertical axis and sweeping dirt towards the longitudinal axis of the machine, the machine having a longitudinally arranged endless belt 2 of an elastomeric material with brush means such as rubber coated wires or transverse blades secured thereto. A motor 20 drives the belt and the brushes through appropriate gearing. A dirt bin 4 collects the dirt swept up the pivoted hopper 3 which latter allows the endless brush to contact the ground in spite of uneven road surfaces and spring or hydraulic means may augment the weight of thebrush assembly. A water pipe 25 is provided.
