A rectilinear-motion bearing for a sliding door comprises a part-spherical member, having an elastic coating b, mounted by means of ballbearings # on a shaft h the ends of which are received in the walls of a carriage m having rigidly connected thereto a U-shaped stirrup n for suspending the door. The part-spherical member rolls along a rail v. The elastic coating c is secured to a cylindrical member a which has a central fluted collar c and an inner groove e forming the outer race for the bearings #. The inner bearing race is formed by distance pieces g mounted on the shaft h. The stirrup n is provided with a longitudinal slot p open at one side to receive a door suspension bolt r having a head s. Projections 't prevent the head s of the bolt from sliding out.
