In a watch the solid front plate 1a is recessed as shown in Fig. 1 to receive the movement parts and the bearing bridges 2, 5, 9 and 11, Fig. 4, are flat. The barrel click 13, Fig. 3, is located in a recess in the other side of the plate 1a. The winding mechanism comprises a rocking bar 14 and a pinion 15 movable into engagement with the barrel ratchet 16 or with the gear 11<1> of the setting train.
