762,986. Centrifugal pumps. SIGMUND PUMPS, Ltd. Feb. 16, 1955 [Feb. 23, 1954], No. 5350/54. Addition to 728,077. Class 110 (1). [Also in Group XXXV] In an electrically-driven pump, the casing of the driving motor comprises a first unitary part comprising at least a part of the axially extending or barrel portion 2 of the casing and an integral end cover 3 remote from the pump 7, and a second unitary part comprising a separable end cover 4 and an integral hollow axially directed extension 5 to the free end of which is attached the pump casing 6. An air circulating fan 18 is mounted on an extension of the shaft 8 outside the end cover 3 for rotation in a space between the end cover 3 and a hood 19 connected with the motor casing, air being drawn in by the fan through an aperture 22 in the wall of the hood and delivered through passages 13 to the interior of the motor casing. The aperture 22 is covered by a screen 23 and a shield 24.
