Abstract
762,645. Manure distributers. VISSERS, H. and VISSERS, B. Aug. 26, 1954, No. 24838/54. Class 6(1). In a machine for distributing fertilizers of the kind having two laterally-displaceable hoppers so as to enable the width of the machine to be reduced for transport purposes, the hoppers are supported respectively on front and rear members of the machine frame, and spreading elements are provided at the front of the foremost hopper and the rear of the rearmost hopper. The frame is supported on wheels 2 and consists of two bars 1 connected together by members 3. The hoppers 6, 7 are each pivotally connected to a bar 1 by levers 13, and a further lever 16 is pivotally connected between the hopper and a support 4 to prevent the hopper from tilting. Rotating discs 8 are provided under the hoppers and these are driven through a chain drive from the wheels by means of shafts 9. In an alternative arrangement, the hoppers are moved by a parallel-motion linkage, Fig. 3 (not shown).
