Abstract

761,656. Knitting - machines. COURTAULDS, Ltd. Jan. 6, 1954 [Jan. 7, 1953], No. 478/53. Class 74 (2). [Also in Group XVI] As nylon fabric 1 leaves the needle bars 2 of a flat warp knitting machine, each edge is uncurbed by a rotating brush 4 and set and held in that condition during its passage to the porcupine roller 9, by an electrical heater 10 and wire pile 6 or pins on an endless ribbon 5. The fabrics thus arrives flat and uncurled at the take-up roller 3. The ribbon 5 may be moved forward by the fabric; or rollers 7 or 8 may be driven from, say, the porcupine roller.
