Abstract

1283381 Knitting machines SCHELLER TEXTILMASCHINENFABRIK GmbH GEB 8 Aug 1969 [8 Aug 1968] 35258/69 Heading D1C After completion of ribbing and transfer of the stitches from the machine needles to the frame needles the number of stitches on the frame needles are increased until they are in the ratio of approximately 2:3 of the ribbed fabric. The stitches are increased outwardly from the middle of the fabric by transfer points and half points to avoid holes in the fabric and the welt comb 24 is arranged in a number of sections 11, 12 which are spring loaded so that they are moved apart as the fabric widens to avoid sideways tensioning of the fabric. The ribbed fabric may have eighty stitches which reduce to forty upon transfer of the loops to the frame needles and which are then increased to fifty two.
