760,799. Magnetic compositions. PLANER, G. V. May 10, 1954 [Feb. 16, 1953], No. 4281/53. Class 38 (2). A composite body of ferromagnetic ceramic material comprising regions of different permeabilities and loss factors is made by firing the body after the different materials have been put together. Two manganese-zinc ferrites of different zinc contents may be produced in powder form from heated oxides, mixed with a binder and granulated, and then quantities are inserted in a die alternately selected from each batch. The body is compressed and sintered at above 1240‹ C. The distribution of the different materials may be cellular of laminar; and they may merge into each other gradually at their boundaries. The ferrite constituents may comprise same or different elements, and their difference may lie in the addition to one of a ceramic flux such as silica. The use of Ni Zn ferrite is also mentioned.
