Abstract

1462305 Nickel ferrites LIGNES TELEGRAPHIQUES ET TELEPHONIQUES 21 Jan 1974 [25 Jan 1973] 02697/74 Heading C1J A nickel ferrite optionally containing zinc, has a spinel structure, a density higher than 95% of the theoretical density, a mean grain size of approximately one micron and the following formula on an oxide basis mFe 2 O 3 , xNiO, yZnO, zCoO where m + x + y + z = 100, 45#m#49, 29#x#52, 0#y#12, 5#z#10 for y#0 and 3#z#10 for y=0. It may be made by mixing the oxides which will form the ferrite, presintering the mixture, grinding the presintered mixture, then isostatically compressing and finally annealing at a temperature of not more than 1250‹ C. in oxygen. The ferrite has microwave applications.
