[Also in Group XVI] A process for making printed adhesive papers consists in spreading a solution of the adhesive on a protector paper treated or coated in such a manner that the adhesive does not adhere to the surface to which it is applied evaporating the adhesive solvent and after evaporation of the solvent, applying the adhesive coated face of the protector paper on to the printed face of a paper suitable for use with pressure sensitive adhesives. A protector paper which may be transparent or translucent is coated with protective varnish not clinging to the adhesive applied or uncoated papers may be used which have been treated with materials such as silicone resin or cellulose acetate. The solvent of the adhesive on the protector paper is evaporated in a drying tunnel and the paper is applied to the printed paper by simple pressure by passing between pressure cylinders. To use the printed paper the protector paper is stripped from the surface and the adhesive surface applied to the inner surface of a transparent object such as a shop window.
