Abstract
760,376. Electromagnetic relays. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES, Ltd., (Lorenz Akt.-Ges., C.). Oct. 20, 1954, No. 30158/54. Class 38(5) The moving change-over contact springs 7, 8 are operated by the armature 14 through a two-part comb 11, 12 attached to an armature bracket 13, the cross bars on the two parts being relatively arranged to form spring-receiving spaces equal to the spring thickness whereby if on energization of the relay to close contacts 5, 8 and 3, 7 one of the contact pairs welds together, then, when the relay is de-energized the remaining springs are not restored. As shown, three contact sets are arranged side-by-side. The fixed springs 3 ... 6 are supported by the cross bars of a further two-part comb 1, 2 the cross bars being positiond so as to be clear of any fixed spring when that spring is engaged by a moving spring. The spacing between the spring pairs 3, 4 and 5, 6 may be varied by moving the parts 1, 2 relatively to each other in a vertical direction, before fixing to the member 9. For greater strength the combs may have a slightly bowed shaped when viewed from above, (Fig. 4, not shown).
