Abstract

829,900. Electromagnetic relay. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. May 30, 1958, No. 17352/58. Class 38 (5). A common magnetic yoke 1 carries the cores 4 of two coils 5 which act on separate armatures 10, 11 pivoted on the edge 9 of the yoke and retained by clips 20 fitting in recesses 18 of the armatures. In the same length 54 or 57 of the yoke 1 that is occupied by the coils and armatures there are mounted three contact spring sets 25, 26, 27. The springs are shaped as shown in Fig. 7 so that the fixed and moving contact springs overlap only at the contact ends 37 and are slotted at 41 where they engage slots in respective fixed and movable cards. The fixed cards 47, 60, 61 are retained between springs 43 and bosses 53 on the yoke 1 and the movable cards 46, 58, 59 are urged against arms 15, 16, 17 of the armatures by springs 42. The armature 10 has two arms 15, 16 to operate contact sets 25, 26 and the armature 11 has one arm 17 to operate the contact set 27. Further units similar to that shown may be mounted on the same yoke 1.
