Abstract

1,075,097. Electromagnetic contactors. STANDARD TELEPHONES & CABLES Ltd. March 25, 1966, No. 13282/66. Heading H2B. In a contactor having a mechanically balanced armature assembly including a plurality of bridging contacts 13 on springs 14, the armature 10 rocks on the end of a core 3 mounted on a mild steel base 1 which also carries a pole member 6, biasing permanent magnet 5 and insulated fixed contact members 7. In the de-energized position shown the magnet 5 attracts the armature to a position in which the right-hand ends of springs 14 are stressed to provide contact pressure at the respective normally closed contact sets. The permanent magnet may be replaced by helical springs.
