Abstract
759,917. Heavy-ion-beam tubes. METROPOLITAN-VICKERS ELECTRICAL CO., Ltd. Oct. 19, 1954 [Sept. 30, 1953], No. 26868/53. Class 39 (1). The collector assembly of a mass spectrometer includes an entrance electrode 5, a unipotential lens 6, 7, 8, a limiting diaphragm 9 and the collector 12, and the effective resolving slit width is varied by adjusting the potential of lens electrode 7. An electron suppressor 10 and a screen 11 are also provided. A specific example of electrode dimensions and spacings is given.
