[Also in Group I] Liquid to be freed from foreign matter and filtered is introduced tangentially at 2 into a cylindrical container 1 and passes through a woven wire mesh 4 supported on a cage 3 to an outlet 5 in the cover 6. The cage 3 is supported by a screwthreaded extension 9 of it which is screwed into a short length of tube 8 welded to the lower surface of the cover 6. An outlet 7 for sediment is provided.
