[Also in Groups X and XXIX] A concrete building unit 1 for manholes &c. comprising two arms 3, 4 at a right or other angle to one another is provided with a groove 5 in its upper surface and a corresponding tongue on its lower surface and a tongue 7 (or groove) on the end of the arm 4 and a corresponding groove 8 (or tongue) in the inner face of the arm 3 adjacent its free end. The outer faces of the unit may be recessed at 12, 13. The unit may be reinforced with expanded metal or metal bars which may be pre-stressed.
