[Also in Group XVII] A storage container or box comprises two hinged parts, to the lower of which is pivoted a handle 16, the handle carrying a bar 15 engaging the upper half to hold it closed and constituting a quick release fastening. In one embodiment in which the lower half is fixed, when the handle is pulled down, extensions 22 engage plates 23 secured to the upper half to break the joint between the halves. Pins 33 limit the downward traverse of the handle, and a rib 37 is shaped to clear the bar 15 as the handle is pulled down. A clip 14 holds the handle in the closed position. In another embodiment the upper half is fixed and the leverage of the handle on the pins 33 is relied upon to break the joint. The rim of the upper half has a ridge engaging in a groove in the lower half rim packed with jointing compound. A ventilator 27 which may be as described in Specification 736,099, [Group XVII], is fitted.
