758,209. Type - bar - making machines. SCOTT, R. H., HAYWARD, A. S., and LINOTYPE & MACHINERY, Ltd. Jan. 26, 1955 [Feb. 3,1954], No. 3170/54. Class 100 (3). Magazines; driving-mechanism.-In a typographic composing machine having operating mechanism for adjusting the assembler entrance of the general construction described in Specification 470,423, there is provided auxiliary control means operated from an automatic perforated tape or sheet-operated control unit for adjusting the assembler entrance. The auxiliary control means comprises a solenoid 42 operative to retract the pawl 35 and to trip the dog 15 to initiate the rotation of the cam 11 and the adjustment of the entrance through a rod 33. The solenoid also acts through an arm 48 to close a switch 49 which disconnects the drive for the control unit until the pawl 35 enters the next notch 34. The signals operating the solenoid pass through a two-way microswitch 46 so controlled by the operating lever 30 that when a repeat signal is received, or a signal to move the entrance to the position it already occupies, the solenoid is not energized.
