Abstract
757,186. Hand trucks. MARCUSSONS TRANSPORTVAGNFABRIK AKTIEBOLAGS. Nov. 2, 1954, No. 31639/54. Class 108 (1). A toe-plate truck comprises side members 1 interconnected by tubes 2, rear wheels 23 on a pivoted frame 24 which may be varied in position by a manual releasable device 25, and a slideway 19 consisting of a rectangularsectioned tube open at the top and provided with a slot 31 for guiding a sliding load gripping member 32. The member 32 is provided with a hook 33, and abutments 36 for engaging beneath the flanges 37 of the slideway 19, or the member may be extended by links similar to the arm 35, each link being provided with abutments at the pivot points so that the member 32 may be pulled out further from the slideway and passed rope fashion over a load to engage the hook 33. The arms 34, 35 may be of different lengths in the one member 32, or different members may have different arm lengths. Alternatively two closely adjacent slideways may be provided, each containing a gripper, but one gripper is of different size and shape from the other, and only one is used at a time. A supporting frame 10 may be detachably mounted on the truck when wheeling sacks &c., the frame 10 being held in position by a spring-loaded bolt 40.
