736,734. Vehicle towing devices. MANN, EGERTON & CO., Ltd. June 11, 1954 [June 12, 1953], No. 16303/53. Class 108 (1). A towing device has a central backbone 1 carrying outriggers 5 to which are pivotally attached arms 11 whose angular positions are determined by pins 23, 28 secured to the member 20 slidable along the backbone 1. The arms 11 carry wheels 32 to facilitate manipulation of the device, and chain carriers 24 slidable along the arms 11 so that chains 30 may be passed over the vehicle rear springs and then attached to the carriers 24. The back-bone 1 also carries an adjustable saddle 46 carrying an adapter to abut a frame member of the vehicle and be retained in position by chains 55 passed over the member and hooked on to tightening hooks 58. The forward end of the backbone is provided with a lifting bar 35 and a spring loaded stand 40. The forward end of the device is supported on a towing dolly 70.
