An expansible link-band or bracelet consists of a plurality of box-like links each comprising a cover, Figs. 1 and 2, and a bottom plate, Fig. 4, with a sheet-metal link member 26, Fig. 11, of plate form extending through a slot 23 in one wall of the cover transversely to the longitudinal direction of the bracelet and through a similar slot in an adjacent box-like member wherein it engages a torsion spring 30 tending to resist expansion of the bracelet, one end of each connecting member 26 being formed with oppositely directed extensions or lugs 27 which hinge against the parts of the inside wall of the box-like member adjacent the ends of the slot 23. The parts of each cover member against which the lugs 27 hinge are preferably bent outwardly as shown at 33, Fig. 13, to provide bearings for the lugs and also to provide spacing means between adjacent box-like members which is not in contact with the surface over which the bracelet is stretched. In the example the torsion spring is formed with two coiled portions 31, 32, the ends of which engage behind a hook 28 formed along the edge of the connecting member 26. The bottom plates of the box-like members are maintained in position by providing them with recessed corners 25 over which lugs 24 at the ends of the slots 23 in the cover members are bent.
