Abstract
755,775. Drainage and sewerage. LOFFLER, W. May 12, 1954, No. 13887/54. Class 33. A gulley 1 has an automatically operating non-return valve 19 closing under back pressure from the sewerage outlet pipe 9 and a manually actuatable closure valve 13 located directly beneath an inspection aperture normally closed by a cover 3 so that when the valve 13 is open (i.e. in the position shown in broken lines) the valve seat can be inspected by merely removing cover 3. The valve 13 is secured by means of a bar 15 rotated on a bolt 14 to engage under lugs secured to the horizontal part 10 of partiton 6, 7; one of these lugs is indicated at 16. A second cover 4 and a cover-plate 20 secured by wedges 22 and 23 allow inspection of flap valve 19, and a dirt-receiving bucket 5 is provided beneath grating 2.
